The City of Kingston is updating its Building Bylaw and invites residents to come to an open house to review and share feedback on the proposed changes.
The open house is set for Thursday, Sept. 28 from 3 to 5 p.m. in the second floor boardroom at 1211 John Counter Blvd. A presentation of the draft Building Bylaw will be followed by a question and answer period.
"The proposed changes to the Building Bylaw reflect the changes to the permit fee schedule passed by council on Aug. 8 and add requirements for construction-site fencing," says Lisa Capener-Hunt, manager of building services and chief building official.
The Building Bylaw regulates the construction, alteration, repair, or demolition of buildings and structures, the information required to apply for a building permit and the permit fees.
The draft bylaw will be available for review at www.CityofKingston.ca/city-hall/projects-construction/building-fee-review after the open house. Comments on the draft can be emailed to Lisa Capener-Hunt at; [email protected] until Oct. 5.
