The Heritage Resource Centre will host a talk by Dr. Brittney Anne Bos on the relationship between built heritage and gender history in Canada as part of their Heritage Speaker Series.
Bos's presentation, "Housekeeping, Healthcare, and Herstory: The (Re)presentation of Women in Kingston’s Built Heritage," explores the relationship between built heritage and gender history in Canada. The presentation will highlight three local case studies that demonstrate how buildings can teach women’s history to the public: Bellevue House, the Ann Baillie Building (now the Museum of Healthcare), and the (former) Kingston Penitentiary.
